VICTOR GREENEAfter receiving his PhD in 1963 from the University of Pennsylvania, Victor Greene specialized in teaching American immigration and ethnic history at Kansas State University for eight years and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee 1971 to 2003. While currently Emeritus at UWM, he continues to be an active scholar and published his fifth historical study on immigrant/ethnic music in 2004. He now is co-editor of a forthcoming anthology on Milwaukee history with current research and articles on the treatment of minorities by American genre artists. He has also has worked on a number of community projects, and been on the executive boards of Wisconsin's International Institute, the Milwaukee County Historical Society, and a Black American dance group. He has enjoyed most his membership on the Historians' Advisory Committee of the Ellis Island Foundation since the 1970s, along with writing reviews of other museum exhibitions.Public Presentations:Milwaukee's Distinctive History as a City of Urban Ethnic Festivals How has America Received New Immigrant Arrivals?
