JANET LABRIEJanet LaBrie has taught English and Women’s Studies in the UW-Colleges system for 20 years. Her dissertation focus was on rural women’s fiction, particularly in the Midwest and Plains states and she continues to be interested in the American landscape, small town and rural life, as they are depicted in literature. Additionally, she is interested in ethnic crime fiction, mystery novels about Native Americans, and memoir writing.Public Presentations:Public Program Ideas: Janet LaBrie is interested in leading memoire writing workshops, book discussions, and collaborating with groups interested in developing literature-based discussions about topics such as women writers’ fictional attitudes toward rural life (from Willa Cather to Barbara Kingsolver), as well as crime fiction about Native Americans. |
