MARA MCDONALDMara McDonald is currently an Assistant Administrator in the UW-Madison Laboratory of Genetics and the Administrator for the Evolution Initiative. She also runs the Biocore Prairie Bird Observatory on Picnic Point on the UW-Madison campus, where she has trained and mentored individuals in bird banding and research. She received her BA in Psychology from UCLA, and her MA from the University of California Berkeley, and her PhD in zoology from the University of Florida-Gainesville for research on Haitian birds. She has had a wide variety of job and volunteer experiences.Public Presentations:Public Program Ideas: Mara McDonald enjoys working with young adults, as well as adults, and is available to lead and/or facilitate discussions on evolution, biology, evolution-creationism, environmental ethics, natural history studies, environamental ethics, genetics, plant pathology, ecology, and comparative literature dealing with natural or social issues. She has experience organizing and moderating public programs on conservation (The Spotted Owl Controversy), Science and Religion (Finding Mystery and Wonder in Science), and has been involved in the annual Darwin Day Symposium in Madison.
