GERI WEINSTEIN-BREUNIG
Geri Weinstein-Breunig has a Master of Science in Cultural Geography from the University of Wisconsin. Combining formal training and practical experience, she works with citizens to define a river or stream in their community as a cultural landscape steeped in shared history and value. Weinstein-Breunig has 18 years experience in management of public land and water. She has held the position of Director of Horticulture and Forestry for Central Park, New York City, and Director of Landscape Policy for the Chicago Park District. Her written cultural histories of Midwestern rivers have been a catalyst for citizen stewardship initiatives.
