"It’s Not What I Do, It’s What I Am: A Firefighter/Paramedic," by David Siegel. A ShopTalk event.

The work of firefighters and paramedics often involves witnessing and enduring human tragedy, as well as triumphing over challenges and calamity. Firefighters are part of a team that becomes like family, bonded by intense experiences and a collective purpose. This presentation will provide audiences with a firsthand account of what it is like to make a living and life as a career firefighter/paramedic. David Siegel, a firefighter with the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, will share his own story about how he chose this career and invite the audience to take part in a conversation about the ways our jobs may provide us with a sense of self-worth, meaning, and personal identity.
