"Finding Your Own Path," by Jessie Garcia. A ShopTalk event.

Every day, people struggle with the meaning of life and work. We ask ourselves, What do I really want to do? Maybe you have a PhD but prefer to stay home with your children. Or you feel like you’re supposed you stay home with the baby but you really want to be back at work. Or you feel overwhelmed in your current job and can’t find a way out. Jessie Garcia is eager to get these issues out in the open. As Wisconsin’s first female sportscaster, she was climbing the career ladder and people often asked her, “When are you going to ESPN?” Instead, she took a step off the expected path by working less, earning less, and choosing a different goal. Jessie has written a book on the topic of working mothers and will share her personal narrative, as well as take questions and open an engaging conversations with participants about the various paths to fulfillment in modern America’s working world. NOTE: Jessie Garcia brings along a DVD to use with her talks.
