Shakespeare in Wisconsin

WebLogo5-19-162016 was the Year of Shakespeare in Wisconsin

Shakespeare’s legacy is as alive and well in Wisconsin as it is anywhere. His work is studied in schools and performed in theaters all over the state. His writing is widely understood to explore timeless wisdom about the shared human experience. We supported the 2016 celebration of Shakespeare in Wisconsin, produced by UW-Madison Libraries, as a Main Stage Partner.

The Folger Shakespeare Library’s First Folio Tour was on view at the Chazen Museum of Art in Madison. There were also state-wide performance experiences, K-12 educational opportunities, a lecture & performance about Shakespeare’s endearing legacy, and special exhibits in the Department of Special Collections and the Kohler Art Library.
